Geltz Communications takes the desert by storm: In three days, the Geltz Energy Team signs up 150 Coachella Valley small businesses for the Southern California Edison Energy$martSM Thermostat program.
Southern California Edison (SCE) asked Geltz Communications to design, develop and deliver an accelerated outreach program for the SCE Energy$mart Thermostat program in the Coachella Valley.
The Goal: Produce a higher, faster rate of returned applications than generated by the existing direct mail campaign to the desert region, where triple digit temperatures are in direct inverse to the single digit return rates from direct mail.
The Recommendation: Geltz proposed an in-person outreach plan that deployed five people for three days to directly market the program to “hard to reach” small businesses.
The Results: In three days, the Geltz Energy Team signed up nearly 200 thermostats, exceeding the goal of 150 by 33%.
The success of the three-day deployment led SCE to recruit the Geltz Energy Team for an additional two days in the desert. In two days, Geltz signed up an additional 121 thermostats.
