Geltz Communications Wins Gold Award in Publicity Campaign Competition

Pasadena, Calif. – December 19, 2003: Apublicity campaign developed by Geltz Communications has won a gold award in the League of American Communications Professionals' (LACP) “2003 Magellan Awards,” a nationwide competition that drew entries from more than 300 companies.    Geltz Communications, a marketing communications firm specializing in the energy industry, developed the award-winning campaign for the Energy Savers Program of the Small Business Energy Alliance (SBEA).

The campaign, which won second place in the business-to-business category, was rated as   “excellent – among the competition's best.” The LACP judges evaluated the entry on six criteria, including first impressions, goal clarity, target audience definition, key messaging, campaign execution and results.

Geltz Communications also received a “Top 50 Award” for ranking among the highest-scoring entries in the competition.

The SBEA uses state-sponsored energy efficiency funds under the auspices of the California Public Utilities Commission to help small business owners save energy and money.

The winning campaign for SBEA successfully combined marketing materials, education and community outreach to connect with the target market, small businesses in hard-to-reach areas of California .

The League of Communications Professionals was established to create a forum within the public relations industry to facilitate discussion of best-in-class practices within the profession while also recognizing companies that demonstrate exemplary communications capabilities.

Geltz Communications, a certified, woman-owned California small business founded in 1990, is a full-service integrated marketing communications company with a focus on the energy, water and environmental industries.
