BIKES, HIKES, HYBRIDS & METRO

Program Manager Scott Samson comes from Washington, DC where he is used to taking the metro wherever he needs to go. He has worked with energy and environmental issues since day one of his career – even on campaigns to promote energy reduction by using alternative modes of transportation! Since moving to LA, he lives close to a metro stop in Silverlake and whenever possible, takes the metro to work.

"Although I’m just one person, I think it’s important to set an example for others by using alternative modes of transportation. If everyone were to carpool, take the metro and/or bus, we’d really save extraordinary amounts of energy and help the environment. It saddens me seeing thousands of cars on the freeway!"

According to Treehugger.com, if just one in 10 Americans used public transportation daily, U.S. reliance on foreign oil would decrease 40 percent.

"Yikes. That’s a startling statistic, but I’m proud to work for a company that encourages me to take the metro. I will continue to do my part to help the environment, but really hope others will catch on."
