Program Manager Susan Carrier found herself groaning every five days when she filled up her Audi station wagon with premium gasoline. Her groans disappeared since she replaced the gas-guzzling family car with a 2007 high-efficiency Prius Hybrid. She's more than tripled her gas mileage from a dismal 15 miles per gallon to nearly 50 miles per gallon. Since she logs more than 15,000 miles per year, she'll reduce her carbon dioxide emissions by more than 3.3 tons per year.

"Since starting work at Geltz Communications four years ago, I've become passionate about the benefits of saving energy. Now I feel like my choice of car is consistent with my other life choices," said Susan.

The benefits to the Carrier pocketbook have also been significant. Susan estimates that she'll save more than $2,000 in annual fuel costs.
